2015-2016 Charleston SC Heart Ball
Frank, Jamie and Charles Anderson Kerr
2016 Open Your Heart Honorees
Frank and Jamie Kerr knew their little boy had serious heart defects even before he was born.
Ultrasound tests revealed that his heart hadn’t formed properly as he developed during pregnancy, and that their first child would be born with Tetralogy of Fallot, a rare and complex congenital heart defect.
And just seven weeks after his birth, the tiny infant underwent a six hours of surgery to save his life. And although he may require additional surgery in the future, today the lively little towhead is doing just fine and has been named the 2016 Open Your Heart Honoree for the Charleston Heart Ball.
As former cardiologist nurses, Jamie and Frank attribute his successful surgery to advancements in treatment funded by the American Heart Association.
Please support the AHA by making a gift to the Open Your Heart Campaign. The next research project you help fund could save your life or the life of a loved one. The next great achievement in heart health awaits your investment.
